Glencore Digital Platform & Unified Brand Identity: 2017 – 2018

Glencore is one of the world’s largest and most diversified natural resources companies, operating at every stage of the commodity supply chain and providing integrated services across a wide range of metals, minerals, energy, and agricultural commodities. With operations spanning more than 35 countries, Glencore focuses on responsibly sourcing the commodities that advance everyday life.

The Challenge

Glencore operated multiple digital channels, including its main corporate site, regional portals, and mine-specific pages. A unified look and feel was necessary to represent the company’s global stature and maintain consistent messaging. Glencore’s project involved multiple departments, regional teams, and external partners. Strong oversight was needed to reconcile diverse objectives, brand guidelines, and technical requirements.

Brand Refresh & Consistency: Implementing a contemporary new look demanded alignment across teams to ensure design updates remained on-message and cohesive company-wide.

Technology Integration: Consolidating separate websites onto one flexible content management system (CMS) required careful planning and vendor coordination to meet both global and local business needs.

Our Role: Programme Management & Stakeholder Alignment

Centralised Planning & Execution
Served as the primary programme manager, orchestrating timelines, deliverables, and project milestones. Streamlined communication among Glencore’s internal teams, agency partner’s creative input, and third-party technology vendors.

Stakeholder Engagement & Governance
Facilitated regular progress reviews, ensuring business leaders, local market representatives, and creative teams stayed aligned on priorities and brand consistency. Managed stakeholder expectations by providing transparent governance frameworks, mitigating risks before they escalated, and maintaining clear channels for feedback and approvals.

Vendor Coordination
Oversaw technology partners responsible for CMS implementation, site architecture, and security protocols, ensuring compatibility with Glencore’s long-term digital roadmap. Conducted joint troubleshooting sessions and vendor negotiations to keep the project within scope and budget.

    The Success

    Alongside agency partners and technology vendors, launched Glencore’s main web channel built on a flexible CMS that unifies the refreshed brand identity, modern design elements, and user-centric navigation. By consolidating multiple regional and mine-specific sites into one cohesive digital ecosystem, this primary platform now provides immediate, streamlined access to Glencore’s global operations, initiatives, and commodities portfolio.
